Orphan Care Center
In collaboration with Consol Homes (a Malawi community-based organization), we are creating The Raising Malawi - Consol Homes Orphan Care Center, Consol Homes is considered one of the best organized community based orphan care programs in Sub Saharan Africa.

The center will be built in Mphandula Village, Namitete in the Lilongwe district of Malawi. It will have the following components:

- A community hall with an attached kitchen
- A preschool unit
- An OAU center for older orphans' activities
- Administration block
- A widows and grandmother (AGOGO) center
- Demonstration garden
- Play areas

The Center site sits in the middle of 26 villages with an estimated population of over $30,000 people (approximately 16,000 children.)

Our initial estimates conclude that we will effectively serve and benefit the lives of more than 4,000 orphans.

Raising Malawi is working to improve the lives of these children by providing smart solutions to challenging problems. Raising Malawi works with global leaders in healthcare, education, agriculture, economics, and community based organizations in Malawi, to effectively meet the needs of Malawi's vulnerable children.
